Marcel Rothig. Director of the Representation of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Ukraine and Belarus .
He studied Political Science, specializing in Eastern Europe and the European Neighborhood Policy at the Free University Berlin and graduated with a Diploma in Political Science. For four years he has been an assistant of the Members of the German Parliament Klaus Brandner and later Martin Dormann. In 2013, he joined the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in Berlin as a Trainee in the Directorate for Central Tasks. From 2014 till 2016 he has been working for the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) in the Russian Federation and afterwards responsible for establishing the Kyiv-based FES Regional Office “Dialogue Eastern Europe”, which conducts multilateral projects in the framework of the Eastern Partnership countries and the Russian Federation. Since July 2017 he performs the function as the FES Resident Representative for Ukraine and Belarus.
