Dr. Sergey Minasyan is the Deputy Director and Head of Political Studies Department at the Caucasus Institute in Yerevan, Armenia (since March 2006). He holds a PhD in Military History (2002) at the Institute of History under the National Academy of Sciences and Doctor of Political Science degree at the Institute for National Security Studies at the Ministry of Defense of Armenia (2013).
Dr. Minasyan previously worked as an expert on military and security issues at the Institute of Political Studies under the Administration of the President of Armenia and then has been working as a regional military analyst for the IHS Jane’s Information Group and other organizations. His professional record includes extensive university-level teaching and research experience in international relations and security studies in Armenia and abroad. He has published ten monographs and reports, and dozens of academic papers and analytical pieces. The main areas of his expertise are international relations, military history, regional security, ethnic minority issues and settlement of the regional ethno-political conflicts in the South Caucasus.
